Welcome to my first Bridal Session blog post! However you found yourself here… feel welcomed and appreciated for stopping by! I love what I do and I hope that it shows in every image you find here.
In each of my wedding packages I include a bridal session. I never thought much of them until my own wedding (3.5 years ago to the most amazing man ever..). It was included in the wedding package I purchased and I’m thankful for it; only because the day of the wedding there wasn’t much chance for great pictures of my dress. My dress was my TOP favorite detail about our wedding. It was by Ramona Keveza and the moment I saw it I almost cried. Of course I couldn’t order one because I simply wasn’t paying $4000 for my bridal gown so the WONDERFUL WONDERFUL people at Wedding Wonderland, here in Knoxville, sold me the one off the floor. Yes, it had been tried on before and needed a little TLC in the form of deep cleaning… but it was my very own Ramona Keveza and it was perfect! I adore this dress and will occasionally still try to put it on from time to time.. although it’s not even close to fitting. ;(
For this particular bridal session I had a very good friend Heather (great Knoxville stylist check out her website –> HeatherKerley.com) throw on MY wedding dress for a model shoot! The headpiece used for the session was FABULOUS and on loan from, again, the wonderful people at Wedding Wonderland. She looked so beautiful and is perfectly photogenic! I owed her a VENTI Starbucks for standing in the freezing temps for hours! In most of the shots it’s actually snowing and I had to edit out the chill bumps! Not only that, but the wind was INSANE! I’m posting a few funny wind shots at the end for your enjoyment. Heather, you are truly a GREAT friend!
We had various locations in mind, but only ended up using 2 due to the weather: her backyard, her house and a scrap yard I’ve had my eye on for a while. When we were shooting in the scrap yard one of the workers walked up and asked if he could take a picture of us with his phone. What he said next was my favorite part of the day, “My wife would never believe me if I didn’t take this picture.. huh, huh”. I love my job… that I get to break the norms with this fascinating little piece of machinery.. my Canon.
I wanted to also use this post to let my 2010 brides know that they can think outside the box for their shoots. Nothing is off limits! Go crazy you guys!!
this picture was tough to get! I think Heather and I both cringe when we look at it! Heather is surrounded by sticker bushes and we kept getting stuck!! Note to self.. do NOT take an afghan into a patch of sticker bushes. Just don’t do it.
