Good morning all! I hope this post finds you so very satisfied with life. There is nothing more freeing than contentment.. mix that with hard-core joy and little adventure and you’ve got yourself one heck of a life. I’m so grateful for mine. Totally undeserving, but incredible grateful. Grateful to my creator for making it all possible. Thank you thank you. While checking out my favorite blogs, looking for inspiration I ran across this image:
It came from one of the LOVE blogs I read. This particular one I found by simply googling.. love blog. Yep! That simple.
So let’s get to the good stuff. This family session was shot at the beautiful Sequoyah Hills Park. We jog there sometimes and I noticed these absolutely stunning stunning trees the other day. I immediately wanted to take out my camera and keep that memory forever! I was thrilled when Allison wanted to meet me there for Caroline’s 9 month session. I’m so thrilled to work with this couple. They “get” it. I explained to her from the very beginning that posed pictures weren’t my thing. I explained if I’m going to do a family session the majority of the shots will be in action… loving, laughing, walking, talking.. just being them. She agreed whole-heartedly which led to a really great session at her house three months ago and then again by the river last weekend. I’ll be starting up family portrait sessions again in October. Enjoy the sweet sweet Lay family.. but first.. a little warm yummy sunshine through the willows. ;)
I figured out a funny fact today. When it comes time to blog something, anything.. I always want to leave a little tid-bit of wisdom or inspiration or bit of interesting along with the images I post. The fun fact is that I only have something interesting to say if I’ve been reading something really interesting or inspiring! No lie! While working today, all I’ve been doing is listening to reruns of LOST from season 1 in the background. Nothing could be less inspiring than that.. well maybe if it were the Kardashians. That may be a little worse (although I love me some Kardashians). Therefore, I grace you with images I just love, but no little pearls of anything but the story from the shoot. Lame, lame, lame. Starting tomorrow, I’m on the quest to find some inspiring, interesting material to juice up my mind and my blogs. ;)
One thing that is certainly NOT lame is the Ellis family. I’m very happy to know them and to have known them for a few years now. Zane is an incredible worship leader here in the Knoxville area and Ashley is one of the most talented craft-woman + super mom I know! Every time I step into her home it truly is the homiest home I’ve ever seen. Her creativity envelops the place on every wall and in every nook. Last week I was in their home again to shoot some more pics of their little precious Emory (a follow up shoot to this one that is next up on the blog). This place was amazing! She showed me a few things she had created to decorate her son’s room and I immediately went into manager mode trying to convince her that she could make some serious moolah with her talent. Maybe one day I’ll be featuring her stuff on here if she’ll take me up on it! Keep a look out!
This day was super-duper cold and got colder by the minute but the smiles and laughter never ceased! And right at 3:00pm (on the dot) it started to rain as weather.com had predicted. Unfortunately we were a few blocks from the car in downtown Knox and I loved every minute of walking back in the rain. Those are the moments I think that make life an adventure… getting caught in the rain!
Hope you enjoy this session as much as I did! Also, there are more unseen on the facebook fan page! Click HERE and fan us up! ;)

Love this set! But who was watching the baby when you took pictures of the parents? :)

Wow. These photos are absolutely beautiful. I showed my mom and she said “This is true talent. Not just anybody can go out with a pricy camera and take photos like these. It is art.”
:)
Sincerely,
Paige Schubert
