This gorgeous bungalow in North Knoxville was revamped by the talented Anthony Bell with Bell Properties. The last home that we took pictures of that he flipped sold from this blog! So, we’re going to give it another shot here. If there was a “dream home” for David and I it would be a bungalow that has either already been flipped or one that we could flip ourselves. We loooove the character of these old homes and knowing the detail that Anthony puts into his work, he is the go-to guy to get it done right. I’m totally in love with this one! “See that big white house right there? That’s where we first met.” I could see the joy in Alli’s eyes as she began telling the story of how it all began. I still remember meeting these two for their engagement session in Johnson City and them telling their story back and forth with such excitement. I feel so honored to have been a part of their day. One of my favorite moments (as it normally is) was their first look. Alli and Paul chose to see one another before the ceremony which I just love! David and I chose to do a first look for our own wedding and it was my very favorite part of the entire day. When Alli came down the isle toward Paul, everyone became emotional. Alli had held her composure so well up until the point she saw Paul, she couldn’t hold back the tears any longer. I love First Looks! These two are incredible people and again I’m so thankful they chose me to capture it. A big thanks to Rachel Baker, my awesome second shooter for this wedding! This girl has such creativity, I’m thankful to know her.
On a personal/business note. I had the chance to watch several days of last week’s Creative Live Online, Jasmine Star photography class. Jasmine Star is one of the greats in our industry and I’m so thankful she chose to allow all of us to learn from her. She covered every inch of her business, photography style, editing and just great business strategy. However, the bit of information that has stuck with me all week is this. As a photographer we need to brand ourselves by defining our style and only posting images on our blog/facebook that reflect that style. In short, when you post images that only reflect your style, you will attract the kind of brides/grooms that you’re looking for to compliment your style and encourage it. I’m so thrilled with this idea. The way she says to best accomplish this is to describe your work in 3 words, words that describe your style.. if an image does not match up to the three words do not post the image. This is going to be tough, but will ultimately take my photography in the direction I want it to go in. I’ll be working on these three words over the next few weeks. In the mean-time.. enjoy the sweet day of Alli and Paul!
